In grade eight I was assigned to do a project on my hero. I didn’t have one so I decided to do it on Alfred Hitchcock who’s Alfred Hitchcock Presents series I would watch at lunch time. After watching a dozen of his films I realized that there were more to movies that I’d ever thought about before.
Six year later I’m in my second year of university doing a double major in Philosophy and English with a minor in Film. Right now I’m interested in Busby Berkeley musicals, experimental film, Japanese New Wave and melodramas. I want to see enough of every type and genre of film to decide what I like and then explore said niche. Though I get distracted. My favourite directors right now are Nagisa Oshima, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Peter Greenaway, Luis Bunuel, Max Ophuls and Frans Zwartjes.
